Who am I? Well, mostly I'm a husband and father of four. When I'm not busy juggling all of life's wondrous challenges, I desperately try to maintain some semblance of my lost youth. How do I do that, you might ask? By using my imagination (sometimes too frequently, as my wife might say). Occasionally, however, I can't help but feel like a monkey in a long line of other monkeys madly hammering away at my keyboard in the hopes that one day a bunch of my words I've put on the screen just might actually become something recognized, and, dare I say, revered.
I was never born an writer or even dreamed of becoming one, yet somehow here I am. The one constant that I have been, however, is one who enjoys make-believe and telling engaging stories regardless of how silly or far-fetched they might be.
As I mentioned before, I never aspired to be an author at any point in my life, but like several other authors before me, writing stories just kind of landed at my front door one day, and I was at least receptive enough to unravel it and let it in for a quick cup of coffee. I never once fathomed that this brief introduction to the craft would have yielded such an outburst of ideas and an almost insatiable urge to keep writing. But it did, and I'm glad!
Currently, I'm and Educational Assistant, but before that I was a full-time stay-home dad for 8 years. I suppose it's no coincidence that during that time, I began to pursue the craft of writing despite all my perceived short-comings or "lack of formal training" expected by many of the literary pundits. The one thing I do not lack, though, is a stubborn willingness to press on and conquer something I really love doing, especially when others doubt that I can.
So here I am, conquering a passion of mine (or at least putting on the guise of conquering it) and loving every minute of it! And the ones I have to thank for making this all possible are my loving kids and super-supportive wife. THANKS, GUYS! I couldn't do this without you.
